CHALLENGE OF HIKERS 18 DAYS
DAY 1: LIMA

DAY 2: LIMA / BALLESTAS ISLANDS / NAZCA
Early departure to the el Chaco bay to board our motor boat and enjoy the attractions Ballestas islands has to offer like El Candelabro (the Candelabrum), a diversity of birds species, sea wolfs, etc. Our trip will continue in a tourist transportation to the city of Nazca, where we will perform a flight in light aircrafts over the Nazca lines to appreciate from the sky the gigantic lines engraved on the sand. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight.

DAY 3: NAZCA / AREQUIPA / MUMMY JUANITA Arrival to Arequipa. At noon we can visit the Andean Sanctuary museum, were we can find, frozen in a special chamber The Lady from Ampato or best known as la momia Juanita extraordinarily well preserved, in this same place you can watch a video about when and how she was found as well as all the rituals that were develop in those days, the visit is guided. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

DAY 4: CLIMBING TO MISTI VOLCANO Dificulty level: Medium Length: 2 days We will leave Arequipa at 08:00 AM in a transport up to 3,320 m.a.s.l. in this place we’ll get ready to start the hike up to 4,610 m.a.s.l. Arrival at our campsite were we will have lunch and spend the night.
DAY 5: SUMMIT / AREQUIPA Early in the morning we’ll continue hiking until we reach the summit, we will take food to eat during the hike. We’ll arrive at midday. An espectacular view from Arequipa city and the volcanic mountain chain. Descend to base camp to pick up our equipment and continue descending down to 4,610 m.a.s.l. where our transportation will be waiting to take us back to the hotel.

DAY 6: Day 06: Arequipa / Colca Valley (B) After breakfast, departure for the Colca Valley. Along the way, you will visit La Vicuña's National Reserve at Pampa Cañahuas and Vizcachani. At Pampa Toqra y Patapampa you will contemplate the wonderful flora and fauna of the region. Arrival to the town of Chivay. In the afternoon, you will visit the hot spring water of la Calera. Lodging and overnight.
Day 07: Colca Canyon / Arequipa (B)
After breakfast, at a pre-arranged
hour you will set off for Mirador Cruz del Condor where you will admire
the incredible beauty of the Colca Canyon and the majestic flight of the
Condors soaring high over the canyon.
DAY 8: AREQUIPA/ PUNO Trip to Puno, with a brief visit to the Chullpas of Sillustani where we’ll appreciate the Chullpas surrounded by a beautiful landscape, then we’ll continue with our trip to Puno. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 09: Puno / Uros and Taquile Islands / Puno (B) After breakfast, full day excursion in the highest navigable lake of the world, the Lake Titicaca. First you will visit the floating islands of Uros which is inhabited by the old Aymara. These people have kept their traditions and customs generation after generation. Then the journey continues to the Taquile Island where you will have the opportunity to appreciate the their handicraft and textiles. Lunch in Taquile. Return to Puno and overnight.
DAY 10: PUNO / CUSCO Transfer to Puno city in touristic transportation the trip will last about 8 hours approx. On route we will visit some places of interest like La Raya, Pucara, Raqchi and Andahuaylillas. Arrival to Cusco. Transfer to the Hotel. Overnight.

DAY 11: CITY TOUR IN CUSCO (09:00 AM) We´ll visit the following archaeological and religious attractions: Cathedral.- Religioso colonial monument of an extraordinary artistic value. Koricancha.- Religious center best known as the “Temple of the Sun” highlights the impressive engineering of the building. Sacsayhuaman.- Located at 3 Km. From Cusco city, astonishing stone fortress and excelent architecture. Qenqo.- Ceremonial and ritual centre, where sacrifices were made. Puca Pucara.- Ancient Tambo (military post), they were located all along the Inca trail. Tambomachay.- At 7 Km. From Cusco city, Ceremonial centre for worshiping water, well known as “the place of the waters” Excursión length: Approximately 4 hours.

DAY12: QESWACHAKA – FOUR LAKES - CAVERNS OF QARAÑAWI This comes to be a new circuit. During its it traveled through around 300 Kms. you will be able to enjoy the natural beauty of its landscape and its people. The four Lakes: Pumaqanchi, Aqopia, Asnaqocha, pampamarka, more of them are located above 3700 m. s. n. m. This is an absolutely unique tour. The Q'eswachaka bridge is located across the Apurimac river, at about 13.000 feet, in Canas province. This imponent bridge spans 120 feet, and is rebuilt every one or two years as communal effort by all the local Indians of the region. About 700 men and women form the communities Huinchiri, Ccollana come to Q'eswachaka to the Festival of the Construction of the Bridge. The weaving and construction techniques have passed from generation to generation since the bridge was first built by the Incas, probably in the 15th century. Impressive scenery , unique possibility to be immersed in local Peruvian culture. Qarañawi, caverns conformed of stalactites and stalagmites. With an it traveled through impressive in the interior of the same one, finding capricious forms and figures carried out by the own nature. DAY 13: CUSCO / SORAYPAMPA-Andenes. (Salkantay trek) Early in the morning we’ll leave Cusco, passing through the locations of Izcuchaca and Limatambo and after a 3 hours trip we’ll arrive in Mollepata. After a light breakfast we’ll continue until the first campsite Soraypampa The place where start to hike 3.1/2 hours we reach the highest point in our trek, the Salkantay pass located between the Salkantay and the Umantay whitepeaks over 4,650 m.a.s.l. from where we’ll be able to appreciate all the incredible surroundings.In1 hour to lunch Then 3 hours until campsite Andenes Or Chaullay.
DAY 14: ANDENES / SAHUAYACO. (SALKANTAY TREK)
Breakfast. This day will
be an unforgettable one because we’ll appreciate how nature changes
we’ll go from whitepeaks to interandean landscapes with a variety of
flora and fauna typical of this area; we can appreciate many kinds of
orchids in their variety and colors.
DAY 15: SAHUAYACO/
MACHUPICCHU VILLAGE (SALKANTAY TREK).
DAY 16: AGUAS CALIENTES / MACHUPICCHU / CUSCO Very early inmediately after breakfast in the lodge we’ll board a bus up to the Machupicchu citadel. We’ll visit the impressive Inca citadel where we will appreciate the urban area, agricultural area, towers, ceremonial squares, sacred fountains, Intihuatana (solar watch), terraces from where you can contemplate the Inca domains. We’ll board the bus down to the village and pick up our bags from the lodge; afterwards we’ll go to the train station to board the train back to Cusco city. Arrival and transfer to the hotel.

DAY 17: SACRED VALLEY Out of Cusco early to go to Pisac ruins on the route will make a stop at the lookout watch the Taray where impressive Sacred Valley of the Incas, finally arrive at Pisaq where we´ll visit the archaeological group and its market. Lunch en route, before continuing to Ollantaytambo where we will visit the impressive archaeological group and its terraces. Return to Cusco visiting to the town of Chinchero, rich in culture and archeology also in this place we`ll can see how the people dye and weave garments.
