Simon puma is excellent! He is very knowledgeable and willing to take the time to teach us about Incas as well us plants and birds. He set a very comfortable pace and found great camping spots. He made us leave later to miss the crowds. We would recommend the company and Simon as a guide for anyone.

Simon is a very very good guide – funny, relaxed and smart. I was very happy with my experience. Our chef Claudio was definitely the best cook. We had incredible food during the trek to Machu Picchu. I would recommend Peru Adventure Trek to anyone who wants a true Peruvian experience with the mountains and the history.

LARES TREK TO MACHU PICCHU

Lares Trek - the lares trek truly made me feel as though I was seeing a part of the country that few visitors get to see. The sights were amazing and that is no surprise considering we were trekking at nearly 13,500feet; the views were spectacular. Clouds often covered the views but this is to be expected this time of year.

We trekked through small villages where our guide helped us communicated with the families that live there and even made sure we came prepared to hand healthy snacks (bread) to the village children who were most grateful.

FOOD AND CAMPSITES - Our cook and horse man were excellent, always arrived to the campsite before our group and most important made a point to keep our gear dry even during day-long rains. Juan (our cook) made super meals. Very healthy and well rounded meals including fruit, vegetables and various meats. They even prepared snack!

GUIDE - Simon Puma was the best guide a traveler could ask for. It was obvious he knows the area and people (including their traditions) well. Throughout the day he always made a point of speaking on areas that might interest us. He was well-organized and it was very beneficial that he spoke English, Spanish and Quechua, making it possible for us to learn about the people we passed along the way. Overall great, unforgettable experience!
